Perth psych-rocker Ben McDonald (of Dream Rimmy and Pond side-project Shiny Joe Ryan) cites influences ranging from David Bowie to Beck and MGMT, Human Buoy’s eclectic tunes are truly genre-bending. Little BIGMAN is pleased to announce their collaboration with Ben in the form of single ‘Period of Maximum Excitability’ – a followup to his acclaimed first release ‘Oxygen’ earlier this year. Written in Amsterdam, ‘Excitability’ was inspired by a documentary about the collective conscious of the world and how the sun’s activity closely mirrors that of the population’s behaviour.
“I basically wrote the whole song in my hotel. When I got back to Perth, Malcolm (Clark) tracked real drums and Ben Smith lay down some vocals at Blackbird Studio. His are the evil Freddy Mercury ones, the bizarre wailing in the first chorus”.
– Ben McDonald (Human Buoy)
‘Animation Station’ will be released early 2017 and features appearances by Ariel Pink, Nicholas Allbrook, Shiny Joe Ryan, Malcolm Clark (The Sleepy Jackson) & other guests.
